«Responsibility: the word that I want to use to accompany the new year»

This year, I am giving you my usual greetings and good wishes for the holiday season from Las@Work’s new virtual space. It is precisely from here that, like the previous years, I would like to take a quick look at what happened this year and introduce, as is now customary, another word that is particularly close to my heart.

But let us take one step at the time. 2021 has been a year of intense work for us, during which we achieved, and even exceeded, ambitious qualitative and quantitative objectives.

During the 12 months that have just gone by, we opened a new showroom in the centre of Milan, which immediately stood out as an important meeting point for cultural and professional exchange.
Its inauguration in September represented a true “opening”: physical, of course, but also psychological, considering all the forced closures of the recent past. This new space in Via Giorgio Jan also represented the place where Las’ marketing initiatives made their debut: from new products, also in terms of new technologies, to the new catalogue, to the three websites created and published with the aim of spreading the word about who we are and what we do.

I have no doubt whatsoever that all of this was possible thanks to teamwork, which always produces added value. But a team can be called a team and becomes stronger only if it is characterised by a collective and widespread assumption of responsibility.
It is precisely this word that I want to use to accompany the new year, because it is its implementation that gives strength, quality and value to all our daily actions.

The meaning of this word is beautiful and it is enclosed in its etymology. Responsibility derives from the Latin respondere and it refers to the aptitude to respond: the ability to react to certain situations and the constant tendency to do one’s part, being accountable for one’s actions and taking responsibility for the consequences.

I have often seen this attitude within our company, but I would like it to become stronger at a collective and individual level. It would be a way to play our role even more effectively, not only as workers and colleagues but also as members interacting with each other within a comprehensive and complex company.
I like to think that you share my thoughts and that they can become one of our common denominators, and by “our” I mean those of our dealers and suppliers too, and of all those who interact with our company on a daily basis.

It is therefore with the hope that you will work, connect with one another and live with ever greater responsibility that I send my best wishes for the coming holidays to all of you and to your families.
